Reading the Trees is a collection from the Hyperlocal Exchange project inviting amateurs, curious neighbors, artists, and writers, and more, to tap into their inner urban naturalist explore a tree hyperlocal to them — beloved, weird, historic, everyday trees alike. Their zines are distributed in Hyperlocal's vending machines to encourage cross-pollination between cities and foster a sense of hyperlocal curiosity. Contributors documented trees in 71 unique localities across 23 U.S. states (and 2 territories), spanning different 16 countries!
